The Artist – Andrew Dandridge

Andrew Dandridge is an accomplished landscape and marine artist, with over 4,000 original paintings sold, a thriving greetings card business, and a growing demand for his signed limited edition prints.

Despite his success, Andrew remains humble, driven by a deep passion for the English countryside, the sea, and a desire to share his art with a growing audience.

A graduate of the Eastbourne School of Art and Design and Brighton University (formerly the Brighton School of Architecture and Interior Design), Andrew earned an Honours Degree in design. He later honed his skills in London, working as an interior designer and architect for a prestigious West End practice.

Today, Andrew’s sought-after watercolour and gouache paintings can be found in collections worldwide. His work captures the stunning landscapes of Sussex and Hampshire Downs, the Lake District, Wales, and Scotland, along with striking marine scenes and commissioned seascapes. He also works in oils and acrylics, blending mediums to create unique, atmospheric pieces.

Through his paintings, Andrew invites you to stand in his footsteps, experiencing the beauty of the landscapes he cherishes—from the rolling hills of the South Downs to enchanted woodlands and serene seascapes.

Andrew’s love for the South Downs and the Weald of Sussex is evident in his work, often inspired by his walks and cycling trips along the South Downs Way and the banks of the Cuckmere, Arun, Rother, and Adur rivers. His winter scenes and bluebell wood paintings are particularly cherished by collectors.

His connection to the sea runs deep. Born to a Royal Navy father and a mother who served as an officer in the Wrens during WWII, Andrew’s lifelong passion for sailing began at age ten. He later co-ran a yacht-building company in Newhaven, gaining international recognition for excellence in craftsmanship. His intimate knowledge of boats, ships, and the sea is reflected in his marine paintings, capturing both their grace and the untamed power of the ocean.
