Painter of fine english land and seacapes
Exhibition Success 2008

The Artist triumphs at exhibition
despite recession
Despite the inclement November
weather and the vocal "Credit Crunch" doom merchants a sizeable queue had
collected outside the doors of the popular Walton’s Oak Barn at the English
Wine Centre near Alfriston, East Sussex for the first day of Andrew
Dandridge's 2008 One Man Exhibition.
At 10.00am sharp the doors were opened and a throng of expectant buyers
poured in to view over 90 paintings, both watercolours and oils all
resplendent in guilt frames.
Visitors from all over the
country, eager to view the latest works by land and seascape painter Andrew
Dandridge, kept arriving throughout Saturday and Sunday to make the whole
event a resounding success.
Following many months of preparation and two days of exhibition building,
the stage was set.
Within the 300 year old oak barn Andrew and Valerie, his wife and business
partner, had arranged a spectacular display of paintings under the seductive
soft glow of spotlights. Subjects ranged from grand landscapes and winter
woods to classic yachts and wild flowers.
Team Dandridge was completed with the able assistance of daughter Naomi and Valerie's sister Rosemary to welcome and chat to visitors making it a truly family event.
Andrew was full of praise for his team's contribution to the show's success which saw several hundred visitors over the two days with more than half the inventory being purchased.
When asked
how he felt this year's event had gone Andrew said “We are delighted to have
welcomed so many guests and would especially like to thank all those who
made purchases. We hope the paintings give as much pleasure to their new
owners as I derived from creating them.
Over the years many of my buyers have become personal friends and we look
forward to meeting and talking with them again at these annual exhibitions.
And, of course it is especially good to welcome visitors who are new to my
work. This year a couple drove all the way from Suffolk to get there by 10
am and were rewarded with their choice of painting. True dedication!"
Andrew also had praise for the venue itself. "The English Wine Centre staff have been superb and Walton's Oak Barn is a perfect location for us with onsite parking, restaurant and wine shop to add to our visitors experience".
Those who were unable to attend the exhibition but would still like to view
his work can visit his
on-line gallery.
