Press release Andrew Dandridge, one of England’s leading landscape exponents, is holding his 18th annual one-man exhibition in the beautiful surroundings of Waltons Oak Barn, at the English Wine Centre, Alfriston and to mark this milestone has invited special guest Nazaneen Ghaffar, weather presenter and broadcast journalist with BBC South East, to perform the official opening. A successful artist with sales in excess of 3,500 original paintings, Andrew remains modest and unassuming, clearly driven by his passion for both the English countryside and all things marine, and a genuine desire to share his experience with his followers. It is this sense of sharing that motivates him and acts as a catalyst for him to increase the occasions where he is able to exhibit his work and talk face to face with the public. Andrew’s home near Eastbourne enjoys spectacular views over the eastern aspect of the South Downs and he reveals with affection what a major source of inspiration they are. The fact that the Downs are now to acquire National Park status is a source of great satisfaction for him. Having walked and cycled their entire expanse in search of his subjects, his relationship with them is more akin to that of old friends. It is the very tangle of “Nature in the raw”, so abundant in the Downs, that provides the inspiration for many of his paintings. His evocative winter landscapes and enchanting bluebell woods are perfect examples of his dedication and skills.
